smitty's Profile

I am currently retired and living in Lancaster, Tx, about 15 miles south of Dallas, after having worked for 34 years with several federal agencies and then 9 more with the American Association of Retired Persons, or AARP.  I was born and raised in a small town in northwestern South Carolina (Liberty), attended high school there, served four years in Southeast Asia with the Navy during the Korean conflict, and then graduated from college with honors in 1960 at Furman University, Greenville, SC.  I married Dorothy in 1960 and have one son who is a medical doctor in Fresno, CA.  He is married and they have three children.  Weather permitting, I play golf with friends three times a week and love to read books and do research in genealogy.
